Mangelnde Sehnsucht oder mangelnde Ressourcen? Reflektionen zur Sehnsucht nach biogenetischer Elternschaft unter trans und genderdiversen Personen wohnhaft in Ontario, Canada

Die Kryokonservierung von Eizellen, auch als „Eizellen einfrieren“ bezeichnet, hat seit der Aufhebung des Status als „experimentelles Verfahren“ durch die American Society for Reproductive Medicine im Jahr 2012 zunehmend an Bedeutung gewonnen. Seitdem wird das Einfrieren von Eizellen in großem Umfang praktiziert, gefördert und beworben – insbesondere für cisgeschlechtliche, heterosexuelle Frauen, die ihrer biologischen Uhr zuvorkommen und ihre Eizellen für einen möglichen, zukünftigen „schlechten Tag“ aufbewahren möchten. Die Rechte von Transgender- und geschlechtsdiversen (TGGD) Personen im Bereich der reproduktiven und sexuellen Gesundheitsversorgung wurden jedoch vernachlässigt. Dieser Beitrag beleuchtet einige der Ergebnisse meiner Dissertation zum Wunsch nach biogenetischer Elternschaft bei TGGD-Personen, die Testosteron einnehmen oder eingenommen haben und in Ontario, Kanada, leben. Mein Datensatz für die Dissertation umfasste neun ausführliche, halbstrukturierte Interviews, 21 Fragebögen und mein Forschungstagebuch. Mithilfe von thematischer Analyse, Queer-Theorie und Trans-Studien zeigte meine Dissertation auf, wie TGGD-Personen, die in Ontario, Kanada, leben, sich weiterhin auf soziale Formen der Familiengründung stützen und die Erhaltung der Fruchtbarkeit ablehnen. Gleichzeitig ergab diese Dissertation, dass mangelndes Wissen, Transphobie und unzureichende Versorgung maßgeblich zur Entscheidung von TGGD-Personen für queere Elternschaftsstrukturen beitrugen. Dieser Beitrag reflektiert einige der wichtigsten Ergebnisse meiner Dissertation und liefert grundlegende Forschungsergebnisse zu den reproduktiven Wünschen und Methoden der Familiengründung von TGGD-Personen in Ontario, Kanada.
