Abstract

This review discusses the edited volume „Gendering Knowledge: Intersektionale Perspektiven auf Wissen und Macht“ (Gendering Knowledge: Intersectional Perspectives on Knowledge and Power), which emerged from a humanities lecture series at the University of Hamburg. The book comprises eight contributions that illustrate and discuss both gendered knowledge and knowledge about gender in literature, language, and (social) media. The volume aims to offer an intersectional perspective on gendered knowledge, and accordingly the contributions address not only gender but also sexuality, ethnicity, class, and disability. Despite their thematic and methodological diversity, the contributions share an understanding of knowledge(s) and its production as intersectional, situated, and context-dependent.
