Intersektionale Kämpfe. Sexuelle Belästigung und ihre Auswirkungen auf Studentinnen mit Behinderungen an äthiopischen Universitäten

Abstract

Die Studie untersucht anhand narrativer Interviews mit zwölf Teilnehmerinnen die Schnittmenge mehrerer miteinander verbundener Faktoren, die sexuelle Belästigung unter Studentinnen mit Behinderungen an äthiopischen Universitäten begünstigen. Die Ergebnisse zeigen eine Bandbreite an Praktiken sexueller Belästigung auf, darunter verbales und nonverbales Verhalten wie unerwünschte Witze, körperlicher Kontakt, sexuelle Forderungen im Austausch für Unterstützung sowie Vergewaltigungsversuche. Das Zusammenspiel struktureller Faktoren mit Armut, Behinderung, Geschlecht und problematischen Einstellungen führt zu intersektionaler Verletzlichkeit. Die teilnehmenden Studentinnen betonen ihre Zurückhaltung, Belästigungen zu melden, aufgrund von Stigmatisierung, mangelnder Unterstützung, Misstrauen gegenüber Kommiliton*innen und Personal sowie der Angst, wichtige Unterstützung zu verlieren. Folglich befinden sie sich in einem Spannungsfeld zwischen akademischem Überleben und Sicherheit, was ihre Bewältigungsstrategien erheblich beeinflusst. Der vorliegende Artikel argumentiert, dass dieser Zwiespalt die Notwendigkeit verdeutlicht, den Fokus auf institutionelle Verantwortlichkeiten und Verpflichtungen zu verlagern, um intersektionale Marginalisierung zu bekämpfen und inklusive Umgebungen zu fördern.

Dr. Tizita Kassahun Gebremariam ist Assistenzprofessorin für Erziehungswissenschaften. Der Schwerpunkt ihrer Arbeit liegt auf inklusiver Bildung, wobei sie ein besonderes Augenmerk auf Gerechtigkeit und Gleichberechtigung legt. Ihr Interesse gilt der inklusiven Lehrerausbildung sowie Behinderten- und Intersektionalitätsstudien im Bildungsbereich. Durch ihre Forschung, Lehre und ihr Engagement setzt sie sich für die Förderung inklusiver und geschlechtergerechter Bildungsumgebungen ein.
