News from Open Gender Journal – April 2020
Dear readers,
from now on we will inform you twice a year about the development of the Open Gender Journal, new publications and calls.
The journal’s new design
Over the past few months we have gradually revised the look of the magazine. By the end of 2019, we have already renewed the layout of the article’s PDFs. Last week our revised web design was launched. The site now reveals at first glance what the Open Gender Journal is all about, while it is easier for you to navigate.
First articles of volume 2020
Contributions to the Open Gender Journal are published continuously immediately after completion. Three articles have been published in the current volume so far, more will follow.
- Brigitte Liebig, Birgit Schmid: How Open are Swiss Universities of Applied Sciences to Students with a Migration Background? A Gender Comparative Analysis
- Käthe von Bose, Isabel Klein: Intimate Work – Precarious Bodies? Bodywork in Gendered Labour Settings
- Sara Morais dos Santos Bruss: Queering Feminist Solidarities. #Metoo, LoSHA and the Digital Dalit
Submit articles
We are always glad to receive research articles for the journal. All information regarding the submission process can be found on our website. In addition, the Call for Articles for the Fachgesellschaft Geschlechterstudien’s Annual Meeting 2019 in Hagen is extended until July 31, 2020 due to the corona-virus situation.
News from the editorial team and editorial board
Our editorial team has grown in the last few months. We are pleased to have Bettina Brockmeyer, Bettina Kleiner, Katrin Köppert and Dirk Schulz working for the magazine.
The Fachgesellschaft Geschlechterstudien, which has supported the Open Gender Journal from the beginning, is now one of the journal's publishing institutions, together with the Margherita von Brentano Center for Gender Studies at the Freie Universität Berlin, Gender Studies in Cologne (GeStiK) at the University of Cologne and the Center for Transdisciplinary Gender Studies at the Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin.
Best regards,
The Editorial Team
